This course will provide students with foundational knowledge related to language, grammar, and texts that is needed to teach elementary language arts. High-quality children's literature will be explored both in terms of its content and themes as well as its unique use of story grammar. A strong emphasis will be placed on determining and understanding text complexity and readability. Must be admitted to Teacher Education Program and have successfully completed EDST-205. (One course).
