A survey of Western Art Music from the earliest times to 1750. The introductory course in the music history sequence for music majors introduces representative works, styles, and composers, utilizes formal and theoretical concepts, and includes an introduction to bibliographic materials and procedures for research in music. Prerequisite: MUSI 122 with a grade of C- or better, or with permission of the instructor. (One course).
